An Alpine Divorce by Robert Barr - an old story with modern relevance

An article about relationship issues on mountain journeys by German news page n-tv made me aware of this short story. The term “Alpine Divorce” was previously unknown in mountaineering circles. The expression derives from the title of this short story by the British-Canadian writer Robert Barr, published in 1893.

I have never read a better mathematical evidence why divorce courts exist.

Conclusion without telling the end of the story: solve relationship issues before a journey, they can become very or too heavy when carrying them on a trip.

But is it that easy? Sometimes a reasonable good approach sounds easier in theory.

Any experiences with this kind of mental luggage on a journey?
