EL Camino de Santiago

I'm looking for the best books about travel tips and prep to do El Camino de Santiago, and also a book that addresses spiritual preparation and/or spiritual benefits of travelling El Camino.

Though I can't make recommendations for either spiritual or physical prep for the Camino, you might want to see a movie called "The Way" with Martin Sheen that follows a grieving father making the pilgrimage to CdeS.

You might enjoy What the psychic told the pilgrim by Jane Christmas. It is her sometimes humourous account of walking the Camino. Not exactly the tips or spiritual prep you asked for, but a good read anyway.

And if you enjoy it you can try her Incontinent on the continent, about traveling in Italy with her elderly mother.

These are some books we have had in our library and you may find for sale or in another library:

“Walking the Camino de Santiago” by Bethan Davies and Ben Cole

“A Pilgrim’s Guide to the Camino de Santiago” by John Brierly

“Buen Camino” by Jim and Eleanor Clem, if you will be doing a lot of hiking.

For a more philosophical take:

“Following the Milky Way by Elyn Aviva

"On Pilgrimage" by Jennifer Lash.

There's a guy who does travel shows (like Rick) named Burt Wolf, apparently he did one about hiking the Camino. Check for it on Amazon PPV or on the youtubes.
