Thanks for adding your tips. Rick's article on traveling with kids is another starting point for people considering this adventure.
Here are my travel with munchkins tips. Snacks and juice boxes or water helps. Extra outfit can help. Travel daypack with any necessary supplies (ie diapers, etc.). Pencil pouch that contains first aid supplies and wipes, hand sanitizer. Make sure when planning sightseeing to include a few child friendly events. Examples: beaches, playground, children museum, zoo, festivals with dancing and costumes. Then, everyone has something to enjoy on the vacation. Castles are great for kids. Plus, you can put them in the dungeon if they misbehave.
