Wrong passport number bus tickets Peru

I bought 3 bus tickets for my trip to Peru in June. Now I see that my passport number is nine digits but on my tickets, the last number is missing. Does the bus company have to give me new tickets or will my current tickets work fine? Am I screwed (did I loose all the money I paid in case the only way to get the passport number changed is to buy new bus tickets)? I always assume the worst-case scenario. I do not remember whether the website even allowed me to enter nine or only 8 digits; I don't remember whether the problem is my fault or the bus company's website's fault.

I would go back to the website and go through the ticket buying process until you get to the passport part and see how many digits it takes/accepts. ( Presumably this is before the payment part?)

If it takes only 8 then I see nothing you need to do. If it takes 9 and you entered only 8, then contact the vendor/ bus company and ask what ( if anything) needs to be done

I honestly think you will be fine. In situations like this I normally find that no body is going to try and compare your ticket to your passport # and spend 2 minutes holding everyone else up while they confirm this piece of info.

As you have noticed, every action in Peru requires a passport, even using a public toilet (just kidding).

Is this Cruz del Sur? They will accept all the characters of a US passport..

In this case I would edit the pdf and add the missing number, but just forgetting about it will probably be fine. CdS does do a security check for boarding buses with a bag check. Note that there is no space on board for luggage in the seating area. Whatever you carry on goes under your thighs on the floor.

These tickets are changeable at no fee, but the pricing is dynamic.

Somebody replied to my e-mail with pat information. The pat information doesn't say whether my current tickets are fine. It just says (I am summarizing) that for data corrections, for a fee of 5 soles, if you ask in person at a ticket agent (I guess this includes the ticked selling counter at the bus station) not sooner than 6 hours before the departure time, they can print new tickets with the right data. Otherwise for a fee of 10 soles, you can send a signed e-mail asking for a refund not less than 12 hours before the departure time and then buy new tickets with the right data.
