Winery recs near Ashland, OR?

Hello Travel Forum. I'm hoping for your expertise. Friends and I are heading to Ashland Oregon this weekend for the Shakespeare festival. We will have time for some wine tasting. Everything I saw online looked good but I'm wondering if anyone from that area or having traveled to that area has any particular favorite wineries they enjoy for wine tasting? We enjoy red and white wine equally. Thanks a lot.

Hi Kaye,
Yes, there are a number of wineries with very good wine in the Rogue Valley.
We like Pebblestone Winery, in Phoenix, close to Ashland. Husband likes their reds; their Viognier is excellent.
Paschal winery also has very good reds.

Check the OSF website before heading to Ashland. Unfortunately smoke in the valley has caused some cancellation of shows in the outdoor theater.

My favorites are farther north, but I asked a friend who lives there and she suggested:

Weisingers (south Ashland)
Irvine & Roberts (east Ashland — east of I-5)
Belle Fiore (east Ashland — east of I-5)

I also recommend you call both the OSF and wineries to see about the impact of smoke on productions and tastings. Unfortunately this morning's AQI reading is 207 (very unhealthy, stay inside). https://aqi.oregon.gov/

Rogue Valley has more wineries than you have time: https://www.travelmedford.org/wine

Our favorite is the RoxyAnn Winery (Medford) Claret, a blend of Cab and Merlot in the Bordeaux tradition: https://roxyann.com/

Be aware that fire season is here and air quality had been an issue for outdoor venues the last few days. See: https://aqi.oregon.gov/
