We will be in Capetown in September and are looking to do a one day trip to the Winelands. Does anyone know of a private/semiprivate guide for that area?
Chris Hannival, Hannival’s Tours. We used him for 3 days earlier this month. His e-mail address is below. Tell him Cyn and Scott say, “Hello.”
Pietman Retief (sp) gave us a very good tour back in 2016. He had a website, you can google it, not totally sure if he is still doing them, but he was very knowledgeable. We loved our 4 days in Cape Town!
Thank you both for your suggestions.
Another option would be for you to rent a car and drive. Stellenbosch is an easy and short drive from the airport with Franschhoek not much further. For what it's worth, the morning after we landed in Cape Town we drove to Stellenbosch and explored the town center and had lunch. Then we visited two wine estates on our way to Franschhoek where we spent the night. The next day we visited three more wine estates and enjoyed the town. It was all great fun with beautiful scenery. Have fun!
We too used Chris for two days of 1:1 tours from Cape Town including the Winelands. He's wonderful---responsive, articulate, flexible, safety conscious and full of first hand experience and information. He also assisted us with airport arrival/departure.
