Where to stay near Whistler, BC?

Hi,

We'll be in Whistler, BC this August. Can anyone recommend places to stay? The medium price range would be ideal.

Our interest is hiking, so any recommendations on which of the many spectacular trails to hike during our limited stay would be much appreciated. We'll have 3-4 days in the area.

Whistler village, as you may know is quite expensive. That being said you are only going to be there for three or four nights so staying in one of the hotels in the main village will get you close to all the activities and hiking trails. When I go there I check Trivago and pick the least expensive of the main hotels in the main village.

There are also great trails in and around Squamish which is on the way to Whistler, maybe two nights in Squamish so you can do some ocean trails and two nights in Whistler to do some mountain trails.

I've stayed a couple of times at Tantalus Lodge. They have 1 bedroom suites. It is a short walk to Whistler Village. Has outdoor pool and hot tub. Might have a good price in August. Can't help with hiking, I go for the skiing.

wise,

Anything in Whistler is probably going to be expensive in August, so you'll have to do some price comparisons online to find the best deal. If you don't mind a short drive to Whistler, you could also stay in Pemberton. This is one hotel in that area - https://www.pembertonvalleylodge.com/ (there are others). Of course staying in Whistler would be better as you'll have a greater selection of good restaurants, etc.

Are you planning to take the Peak-To-Peak Gondola?

On the way up to Whistler, you might enjoy taking a ride up the mountain on the Sea To Sky Gondola - https://www.seatoskygondola.com/ . There are a variety of activities available at the top, including hiking (be sure to note the warnings about "wildlife").

Summer prices in Whistler are better than winter.

We have also enjoyed Tantalus Lodge. This was much less expensive than other lodges, but still well-located and quite nice.
