Where after a Jordan trip

We are doing a 14 day Egypt/Jordan tour in mid Oct 2022. We start in Cairo and end in Amman.

Before returning to the US,I would like to extend the trip which end Oct 26 after Amman and go somewhere in Europe. Maybe spend a couple weeks somewhere on our own. I hate spending airfare to go overseas for just 2 weeks, we are retired so time is no object,

Any suggestions ? We’ve will have already been to London/UK this summer so that is out. We’ve done Paris and Southern Spain but wouldn’t mind goi g back to Southern Spain.

Trying to figure out where it makes sense to go weather wise and ease.cost of flying after Jordan. Prefer not to do Turkey on our own so would need a tour if going there,

Any suggestions appreciated. Alternatively we could fly into Europe a few weeks ahead of our Egypt tour and spend some time there and then fly to Cairo

I would suggest a good complement would be Greece and/or Italy. The weather that time of year. The other "great" civilizations. And both easy to do on your own. Actually so is Turkey so if that country appeals to you would not nix it just because you think you need to do a tour.

Sicily? Or Malta, or both? It’s nearby, should have nice weather in October. Plenty to see.

Well, gee. Why not come here? (Israel) Late October to mid November is a great time here, the bulk of tourists are gone, the weather is sunny and warm (sandals and short sleeves) and there's little, if any, rain. In fact, the weather here is better at that time of year than much of anywhere in Europe. If you can visit Europe on your own, you can visit Israel on your own. Driving is easy outside the main cities, virtually all sights are fully explained in English, and we have tons of history and nature plus good food and some excellent wines.

The best flight option into Cairo and out of Amman is probably Turkish Air. You could easily fly here from Amman and then fly home on Turkish without having to fly to Egypt or Jordan.

I think that may be too late for Greece. A lot of the islands start closing down in early October as do many of the towns on the mainland. You could do a week or more in depth on Crete and then another week in depth in Athens.

Otherwise, I would head for Italy. Heck, I'd probably make that my first choice since I'm going there in 2 weeks on my umpteenth visit.

Google flights allows the option to enter Amman to Europe. Nonstop flights from Amman include: Amsterdam, Rome, Madrid, Vienna and Athens.

Thanks everyone for the ideas. We’ve been to Greece a couple times. I’ll have to try the google flights ideas. I’m leaning towards Rome or Madrid now. We’ve been to Rome before but no where else in Italy except Sicily for a day. Would like to have somewhere warmer since we will be traveling end of October into mid November.

Appreciate the assistance
