water taxi vs riverfront cruise - Ft Lauderdale

Next week my wife and I will be in Fort Lauderdale for a cruise. Because of a late departure we cannot embark until 3 pm so we have a number of hours to see some of the city.

We want to do either the FL Water Taxi or the Riverfront Cruises Venice of America tour. I know about each from online and phone calls to each vendor. But, my question is -- has anyone gone on both water tours and which one is better?

I know there are lots of reviews for each individually, but comparing the two is what I would like to know. Primarily the captain's narration and sites to view. Which one did you like better and why? Thanks for your help! Ted

We have not taken Riverfront Cruises Venice of America. Sorry that we can't give you a direct comparison. We have, however, taken the water taxi, thoroughly enjoyed it and will probably do so again. I like the hop on hop off aspect of it, the frequency of the schedules, and the fact that your fare is good for all day.

We have been to Ft. L several times and it has a nice beach. However, frankly, I don't see the appeal of either one of these tours. Ft. L is not Venice.
