Technically the ETAs (Electronic Travel Authority) are not visas, although they are colloquially referred to as such. You need to have the ETA as a visitor from a non-exempt country, and in addition to the ETA you’ll be granted a “free” Visitor Visa upon arrival.
New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA).
* As part of the NZeTA application, you will also pay for the IVL (International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy).
* The NZeTA costs NZD $17 on the free app, or NZD $23 if completed online.
* The IVL is currently NZD $35, but this week the NZ Government announced it will go up on October 1, 2024 to NZD $100.
* Apply by September 29 if you plan to travel to NZ in the next 2 years and want to save NZD $65.
* The NZeTA is valid for 2 years from the date of issue for as many return visits as you like!
* At the latest you should apply at least 72 hours before you travel to New Zealand.
