Hi:
I am planning a trip to Vietnam the route being Ho Chi Minh City (3 days) to Hoi An (3 days) to Halong Bay (2-3 days) to Hanoi (3 days). What is the best way to go from each of these places to the next place? Thank you in advance.

This is a quick reply to say that I think flying between HCMC, Da Nang (for Hoi An), and Hanoi is your best bet. It's been ~7 years since I was there, but unless they've made significant investments in their train system in that time, the train is too slow to the point that you'd need to add several days to your trip. There are many van or day-trip services that can get you from Hanoi to Halong Bay. Google is your friend to find those. Enjoy your trip!
