US travel and CDC vax cards

Other than maybe for air travel, has anyone been asked for proof of vaccination during recent travels to or through different U.S. states? We're road tripping soon from MN to New Mexico with en-route stops in Kansas and Missouri. I'm aware of the indoor masking mandate in New Mexico - we're fine with that, and are staying most of the time in a rented condo - but haven't seen mention anywhere that anyone at all has needed their cards for, say, domestic U.S. sightseeing/shopping/restaurants.

We plan to store pix of our cards on our phones but would prefer to leave them at home for safekeeping if possible. The darn things have become as valuable as passports these days!

Thank you, Amy! Our single stop in MO will be St. Joseph. Interestingly, the article you linked mentioned that some 'experts' don't recommend storing a photo on the cloud but I think we can safely store a scan in notes (iphone).

Best to have it with you. In new Orleans in June we were asked for our vaccine card at a couple places...or wear a mask...and they have increased the requirement since.

Can't speak to the other States, but in a number of states it is not uncommon to have to show it.

Thanks, Paul. We'll probably end up taking the cards + scans as things are so fluid. I appreciate your 2-cents!
