Before we begin a cruise from Buenos Aires, we want a week on the beach in Uruguay. We prefer Jose Ignacio. If you have stayed there, we would like thought on where to stay and how to get there from Montevideo airport.

We stopped at Punta del Este while on a cruise and enjoyed the resort city, but the beaches didn't WOW me. I live in South Georgia and in my opinion Florida beaches beat what I saw in Uruguay.
Why go to the beach on an overseas trip?
Lots to see in Uruguay, but if you want beaches, perhaps this helps.

Thanks for your reply. The reason we want to go to the beach is to extend our trip, so this would be a week before we leave on the cruise from BA. My husband has limited mobility, so a beach break in February fits the bill.
