Universal Studios Hollywood

Hi,

My adult daughter and I are going to Universal mid week in early Sept and I am reading conflicting info about what to see first. We don't care about Nintendo/Mario Kart or the Water World show but are huge Harry Potter fans. I believe we are supposed to do the lower lot first to minimise wait times (just getting the regular ticket, not express but will be there first thing in the am) but am wondering if that will set us back significantly in doing the Forbidden Journey and Flight of the HG. Need to fit the studio tour in somewhere too. Any tips from those who have been?

Thanks.

Have only been once but it was just a few months ago. We were expecting Disney levels of crowds but were pleasantly surprised that it wasn't nearly that busy. I can't vouch for whether we were lucky or if it's typically like that. We went on a Thursday.

It's not a huge park and if you are there for a full day then you will have time for everything, especially if there are areas and attractions that you skip due to lack of interest. As a general theme park rule, I'd say that it's always best to get there right at opening and immediately do the attractions that you most want to do.

The studio tour was really great. The trams they use are massive and run frequently so there is unlikely to be a long wait. People who are more frequent visitors can fill you in more.

Slightly off topic, but if you're looking for an actual studio tour instead of the theme park that is now Universal, I'd recommend Paramount. Warner Bros not bad either. About $65 for 2 hours.
