Hi there can you give suggestions for trips/tours to Beijing and Shanghai for travel mid April 2018 for 2-3 weeks tops
Would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you.
There are many tour companies to do China. We did a wonderful three week tour of China with a company called Vantage.
Here is my detailed review of the trip.

We did two tours planned and guided by China Advocates, now Asia Sublime: http://china-advocates.com/about-our-insiders-luxury-tours/
Both of our China Advocate tours were alumni affinity tours. China Advocate/Asia Sublime tours are high end upscale accommodation tours. Our first China tour was a small group tour of 12 persons supported by a national guide, local guide and bus driver. Our second China tour through China Advocates went forward with only four persons supported by a local guide and van driver. Private tours: http://china-advocates.com/independent/
We are going to China in September so we have kind of explored the travel options. My suggestions would be https://www.oattravel.com/, http://www.chinaculturetour.com/world-heritage-culture-tours/index.htm or https://www.audleytravel.com/us/china. We did find the process interesting and worked hard to find a tour that covered where we wanted to go, since we suspect we will never get back. We also did look at river cruise companies like Viking, Uniworld and Avalon who combine river cruise with land touring. I hope you enjoy the sorting out process as much as we have.
It's been 15 years since I went so my review is not recent. We used Pacific Delight tours and I thought they were wonderful. We had no problems or issues with the tour, everything went according to plan. The guide we had was incredible - he was kind, warm, efficient, helpful, and very informative. Hotels used were what we would call 3-4 star and well located for individual exploration. All but a couple meals were included and were very good. We also had individual city guides that were good too. Our tour was a short tour, 11 days to Beijing, Shanghai, and X'ian, but we saw everything we had hoped to see and had a wonderful time.
Now, I know it's been a long time and I didn't search for recent reviews, but the company is still around so how bad can it be.
