We are looking for a nice Ryokan to stay in Kyoto for 2 nights in late October.
There are three of us traveling, Mom and two 15 y.o. daughters.
Any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks,
Kat

Kat, I just got back from Kyoto two weeks ago. Stayed at Royal Park Hotel The Kyoto. http://www.rph-the.co.jp/kyoto/en/
Nice clean quiet place in central Kyoto. Walking distance to many restaurants and shopping areas like Teramachi Street which is a huge arcade of shops. Also close to Gion. Not quite walking distance from Kyoto station but close. Not sure what your plans are there so other areas might be better suited to your itinerary. I'd check the Japan forums on Trip Advisor and Japan-Guide.com also if you haven't already. Love Kyoto! Doug
No knowledge of ryokans, sorry. But FWIW, just returned from Kyoto and stayed at the Westin Miyako. Excellent overall, our second stay. Easy walking to many major sights in Higashiyama area, just across the street. . Keage subway stop 30 seconds from front door, many reasonable restaurants nearby for dinner each evening, and a swell little breakfast place with omelet, toast, coffee and (?) potato salad 2 minutes away, US$ 5.00 Kyoto is great, hope you've allocated several days. Have a safe trip.
