We are taking a 24 day Africa trip in 2027 and it was reccomended to us to purchase Trip insurance,( Medical and Med evac).
Hoping you have some recommendations, where you had a good experience with a reliable company?

A friend of ours referred us to AARDY. I would describe it as kind of a market place of all different insurers. You customize who you are, what you need, what you want to cover. They have a partnership with AARP, and the person I spoke with did a great job of explaining plans, coverages, etc. I am 65 and work in insurance, I felt AARDY did a nice job at a good price with a number of options I could understand. We will be in Africa next year too!
We use Travel Guard and have not had any problems with claims. Just read the policy beforehand to be sure you know what it covers and what it doesn’t.
For evacuation to your home hospital, you might look at MED JET ASSIST.
AmEx offers Medical and Med evacuation coverage (doesn't include the expensive other issues like trip cancellation, etc.).
We usually buy $1 million coverage for both of us for about $60. You have to have an AmEx card.

We buy annual travel insurance from Allianz and annual medical from BCBS Global Solutions formerly GeoBlue. Both excellent and a great value if you take more than one trip in a year.

Africa is a big place and very diverse. Where exactly in Africa?
Yes to what Emily asked. Africa is a big continent with 54 countries. Insurance coverages will undoubtedly vary depending on the country. Exactly which country(ies) are you going to? And is this a safari trip or a city visit? In the wild the type of coverage needed may vary from city coverage. Please be more specific than an "Africa trip".
Sorry, should of mentioned where in Africa. Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe, all on a Safari
