Travel to South Africa 2023 October

I’m traveling to South Africa next October with a friend. We will stay with a friend in Cape Town and then want to go on a safari someplace in Kruger. Looking for suggestions of different camps where you see lots of animals, including leopards, that is reasonably priced. We thought we would stay approximately four nights.

Not in Kruger, but we stayed in Kapama, very reasonably priced compared to many.
You can self drive in Kruger.
Have fun researching!

We stayed in the Skukuza camp within the park. We saw leopard on several game drives. Avoid the expensive game lodges outside the park, as you have to leave between dusk and dawn when the park gates are closed. Staying in the park means that you can take night game drives after the park is closed and get into the park earlier when there is less chance of the animals being disturbed by traffic. We had 5 nights there. We are planning on returning next October or November for a week.

We too are spending time in CT then on to safari. Not in Kruger but check at Tau Lodge in Madikwe Game Reserve in SA adjacent to Kruger. We're taking our family there next summer. It's in a non-malaria area so no one has to take malaria meds, has plenty of wildlife including the big 5, reasonable and gets great reviews. Good luck with your research.

October is the wet season in Kruger when you are less likely to see the birds and animals.

Tau Lodge is nice but it’s expensive.
