Travel to Alaska to get vaccinated?

Alaska will be begin offering vaccinations to tourists this summer, beginning June 1.

It is an effort to promote tourism to the state, which is suffering economic loss from the absence of cruise ships. (Though note that Uncruise is running shall ship cruises in Alaska for fully-vaccinated people). So if you have already had your jabs, might be a good time to go.)

I hope they think this plan through about not importing disease from other countries and states. What vaccine will they be giving? One shot J&J? Other testing required? No quarantine? Masks? Let’s hope that the residents are thoroughly vaccinated.

Diane, unfortunately Alaska recently changed their position on pre-arrival testing and Post-arrival social distancing precautions from "mandatory" to advised". Who knows how many visitors will follow that. The tourist industry is happy but many locals are not.

Most of the remote, off-the-grid communities and native villages have their own stricter requirements, fortunately.
