Dear Fellow Travelers,
We have just learned that the electricity in Morocco is 220 volt --the USA where we live is 120 and we've only ever had experience with the adapters never used a converter before. Happy to know there are so many converters and adapters on the market but now wondering if anyone has a brand they prefer? Thanks again!
You can use the same adapter you use in the EU in Morocco.
bottom line, as you will see with a search in the various European Forums, is if it needs a converter (hair dryer, straightener, water boiler etc., which is only designed for 110-120v - printed either on the label, item or plug) leave it home. If you plug it in via an adapter (which only changes the shape of the plug) it will fry with suitable smoke and sparks and flame. Your landlord will not thank you if you burn the place down or short the electric supply for the whole building.
If it works with multiple voltages, like a computer (check, check, check), laptop (check), phone charger (check), hearing aid battery charger (check), CPAP machine (check and check again) which will have something on it 100-240v, you just need to change the shape of the plug which is what an adapter does. Plug the adapter into the wall and plug your charger or whatever into that and you are good to go.
An adapter which works in Germany or France will work in Morocco.
You will need a Type C adapter and maybe a Type E. As for a voltage converter forget it. Things like phones, tablets etc. should charge at 100v to 240v. If you are taking a 120v only appliance, go shopping and get one that works on both voltages.
Thanks everyone.... yes.... we've traveled with adapters before but never with a converter so were looking for any favored brand names as there are quite a few on Amazon and other sources online. Thanks again!
The short answer is - don't get a converter. If you have an appliance that you absolutely cannot travel without, spend the money on a dual voltage version of it, so it can work with an adapter.
Although I understand the words---a dual voltage version-- do you have a referral to a brand that you like as I'm not sure exactly of all the ones I've looked at on Amazon today that I'm seeing that? I have seen ones that refer to themselves as 'step-down' converters .. is that what you mean?
Thanks
You need to look for a dual (or multi voltage) appliance, not a converter.
Most modern phones, for instance, are already usable with both 120 AND 220. No converter needed.
Here's an example:

what specifically are you looking to take that requires a converter? different things require different types of converter because of how they work. Don't be shy, there isn't anything somebody here hasn't tried before.
Exactly what Nigel wrote.....if you have been to the EU and used your devices there, then you can use them in Morocco without a converter.
What are you taking that you think you need a converter. (As an example, most electronics are dual voltage meaning they will work in both 110 and 240V. You would only need an adapter.)
Thanks everyone.... I'm not taking any hair styling things with me...almost every place we're staying throughout the country has a hair dryer. Instead it's just charging for iphone, apple laptop and external battery pack. What we've read is that Morocco is 220v and here in US is 120 so just want to be prepared. Sounds like you're saying with the adapters we've used in Europe we're fine. So thanks! No need to buy anything else.
Safe travels all!
All of Europe, including the UK, is 220 voltage so everything that worked there will work in Morocco.
Here's a map that might help you.

Thank you everyone! Much appreciated!
Safe travels to all!
