Tour of Translvania, Romania

Has anyone done a tour of this area? Thinking of two days from Bucharest staying in Sighisoara for one night, and Brasov for the other. What are must sees and what tour company did you use.

That’s not a tour of Transylvania, that’s 2 nights at its “door”. 2 nights in Brasov will allow you to see the Peles and Bran castles (Cantacuzino Palace) and enjoy Brasov for a bit. Depending when you will travel to Brasov, the drive could take from 3 to 5 hours… That alone could consume a good part of your days. You could easily do this on your own, no need to hire a company.

We were in Romania this October and concentrated on Transylvania. I agree that I would just do two nights in Brasov. Sighisoara is cute enough but it's very, very small. Brasov is a nice home base and the area is gorgeous with lots more to see. Also, driving times are quite slow in Transylvania- it takes longer than you might think to get from point A to point B.

We did a private guide (Adrian) from Brasov. Went to sighisora with stops on the way! It was one of the best experiences/guides we've ever had. Adrian was very knowledgeable and you could tell he loved his job. We were very interested in history and he tailored the tour perfectly. We stopped at some sites where we were the only people there, and were able to really soak everything in. Since it's a private trip, I'm sure he could customize for you! Here's the link for the tour we took: https://www.viator.com/tours/Brasov/Sighisoara-Viscri-and-Rupea-Transylvanian-Gems-Tour-from-Brasov/d23067-31187P8

(We enjoyed la Cuen in Brasov for simple food, as well as Am Rosenberg- I'd avoid Ursul Carpatin: expensive, inedible food and crap service.)

Thank you all. Very helpful, especially knowing how special your time was, Jumpset, and what restaurants worked.
We have now connected with Dan Nica who is one of the tour guide referrals from Rick Steves. He is working with us to plan this tour and we will do one night in Brasov and one night in Sighisoara. He also provides hotel suggestions, so we book those separately.
