Tour company for Albania

Can anyone recommend a tour group company for trips to Albania? This is for two active 60-somethings. Love the ease of having someone else (like Rick Steves!) do all the planning. TIA!

This individual planned a trip into Albania in May for a couple of close friends of mine. The trip went very well. They drove in from Montenegro and then they pretty much just stayed in the north for about a week and departed from Tirana. But they enjoyed the heck out of it. I've used them a number of times over the years. Last May to Montenegro and she is taking care of all the details for a return trip to Bosnia for me scheduled for the end of August. So far, I couldnt ask for better. The trip in May to Montenegro I had to cut short because of some issues at home, you have no difficult that can be without local help. I just called her, told here the details and she rebooked and rearraned everything and turned the two days I had left in the country into something special to make up for the mess I was in. Without that I probably would have just sat in a room for a day and a half and waited for the plane. For the upcoming Bosnia trip I have been often enough that I know where I want to go and what I want to do (mostly fishing) but Bosnia isnt the easiest place to get around in so I wrote her and she is setting up the transportation and a tour or two along the way. Again, so much easier.

I will be back in the region again in the Spring and I finally understand why i go back so often. She makes it so easy. A few emails and its done. Getting old and getting a bit tired of cataloging all the reservations and planning all the days .... Nice to have a region I can just do a mindless and enjoyable "holiday" from reality.

Take a look at Lyuba Tours (lyubatours.com) - they have a Western Balkans tour that is excellent and includes time in Albania. The tour is led by Stefan, who also leads Rick Steves tours in Bulgaria and he is an excellent guide. I took this Lyuba tour a couple of years ago and loved it - very small group (max 10) and you also get to explore other fascinating places in the Balkans. Albania is beautiful and worth your time, and you may want to venture into other neighboring countries to exhance your experience. Beautiful, untouristy part of Europe with fascinating history, both ancient and more recent.
