Top places to visit in the US per The Telegraph Travel

Hope you can read this without a subscription. I love to see what other countries say about travel in the US. I have some issues with this list (El Paso?) but it is the top 25 cities by population so that is a constraint and Texas features prominently, skewing the list.

My nearby population center, Portland, Oregon, is 26th by population otherwise it surely would have made the list. Seattle came in #1!

Definitely the author's personal opinion. I guess most of us go to Europe for the history, culture and art. Seattle is certainly a beautiful city, but not sure I would rank it over Boston, Philadelphia or Wash. DC historically or New York or Chicago for art. Not sure what Europeans use as a criteria, Look forward to some European's posting.

The Texas cities in the list isn't opinion, its fact. What is opinion is they were not rated 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. 6 ,7. Just my opinion.

I'm picking nits but discussion title 'Top places to visit in the US...' doesn't match the referenced article, 'Top 25 biggest US cities to visit'. Many would argue that the top places to visit in the US aren't in the biggest cities, or even in cities at all.

Yes!!!! National Parks…although that usually requires renting a car and driving to see the big Western Parks.
