Tokyo hotels- we’re overwhelmed

Looking for a hotel room for next week. We’d love a larger room in Asakusa or nearby if possible. Any recommendations?

The superior / corner room (don't remember exactly which, sorry, but there are details on the website) at the Asakusa Tobu hotel was reasonably large, and the location is perfect as it sits right on top of Asakusa station.

We just booked the BON Tokyo Asakusa. It has a 431 sq feet apartment with a balcony. It will be wonderful to be able to get fresh air. But thanks for your suggestions.

@Becky, let us know after your trip how that went. I didn't suggest anything because I stayed in a different neighborhood, but I'll be planning a new trip to Japan/Tokyo for next year. And a room with a balcony is hard to find.

Hi Becky - I visited Japan alone in 2023 (Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Miyajima). Next year, I want to take my family along. Would probably do Tokyo, Kyoto, Hakone maybe. Still TBD.

We loved Osaka and a side trip to Kinisaki Onsen which is a magical town full of onsens. It is about 3 hours from Osaka or Kyoto by train.
We are now on the island of Kyushu which we’re finding very delightful. Lots of onsens most everywhere.

Since it's next week, I expect you may find discounts on unsold rooms on Booking.com

Joy, The Bon Tokyo Asakusa has many great features including a washer, kitchen, good shower. The smaller rooms have larger balconies. Our room has a very small balcony but still nice to get lots of fresh air.
We’ve found a great bakery, Tomtom down the street and an excellent traditional restaurant, Mizumoto.

Japanese (French) bakeries are ridiculously good. As good as France for French classics.

As far as the amazing traditional Japanese baked goods go, just don’t mistake a pan curry for a sweet donut or that first bite might catch you off guard.
