I'm thinking about a last minute (late August) trip to Todos Santos with my teen daughter. I'm worried about safety. I realize that I will have to rent a car and drive from the Cabo airport and from what I've read thus far, I will need to drive to most swimmable beaches. Is this safe, two women driving alone? At night perhaps after dinner? Airbnb's are pretty reasonable but I think we would feel better in a hotel. Right now I'm looking at San Cristobal Baja or La Bohemia Baja.
Also, what is there to do with a teen? She loves the beach and wants to learn how to surf. I've heard that there is also hiking (safety?) and also sea turtle volunteer opportunities. She likes outdoorsy things to do.
Other last minute trip ideas are Maui, Kauai, Costa Rica (Discover Corps) or London (I found some good flights). But since we live in Los Angeles, Todos Santos seems reasonably priced and a quick flight.
