I'll be in Bangkok for the first week of October which is the end of the rainy season. I'm told it will be hot and humid with strong possibility of frequent rain. What do people do if they are out and about? Lightweight rain gear? umbrellas? hats?
Also, I don't deal well with hot and humid. Any specific brands of cotton shirts you can recommend?

I've been there during the rainy season...it isn't just rain...it's RAIN. Quite torrential at times with temporary flooding of roads and crazy wind. It's great to experience! Most of the locals just don their flip flops and keep going except when there's really a downpour and everyone ducks for cover. I've seen plenty of umbrellas come out too. When it stops raining it clears up to muggy and hot tropical beauty!
