Thailand and Morocco

Different trips but these are two places that I want to visit.

Since I now travel single and am retired I am searching for a tour company with the Rick steves travel concept.

An suggestions?

Take a look at OAT (Overseas Adventure Travel). Some things similar, others different.

Intrepid and GAdventures are two we've taken that have small groups. Both had a local guide for the entire trip. They teach you how to use the local transportation. Intrepid is based in Australia. GAdventure is based in Canada. It used to be Gap Adventure; stay away from the under 30 year olds tours. On our 2015 GAdventure tour of China, we were the only Americans; most were British or Australian.

I agree with Bob’s suggestion for OAT (Overseas Adventure). They have a R.S. Travel concept, smaller tour groups and larger worldwide tour selection.

Check out Imprint Tours. They have trips to Morocco and Thailand. I used the last November and went to Egypt. I think some of guides have worked with Rick Steves. They are excellent. imprintours.com

A vote for Road Scholar. They do those places and more. I like their itineraries - they tend to stay in places for more than two nights. Many of their departures are small group - under 24. Our recent France trip was 19 and our Portugal trip we’re starting is 17.

Pat. I’d be interested in more info on Imprint Tours. I looked on their web site. What was your experience?

I've been to Thailand twice on my own. It's not at all difficult.

Check out https://retreatrecreate.com/. This is an Australian based tour company. They focus on trips of no more than twelve women and specialize in : We offer women’s textile arts retreats and tours to Japan, India, Morocco, Vietnam, Indonesia, Laos, Thailand and Australia with Turkey, Iran, Iceland and the Silk Road being added in 2023 (Covid permitting). We’re also expanding our offerings and planning dance focussed tours to Japan and Europe (London, Paris & Amsterdam) and a garden tour of Japan.

I am joining them in November 2022 for their Morocco journey.

I second Bob and PaulB.Have done Morocco with Overseas Adventure and had a great experience because of the smaller group. As for Thailand is concerned I had planned the whole trip on my own and it was really easy to plan.

I’ve been on two Imprint tours, but not to the countries you are interested in. I loved both tours! The owner of the company, Reid Coen, is a former Rick Steves guide, and the tours are run like Rick Steves tours. It’s a small company, so don’t delay. Many of the tours fill up quickly. Let me know if you have any specific questions.
