Taiwan - Fun Pass ??

Headed to Taiwan in about a month or two.
I just read something about a Taiwan Fun Pass

I'll be in Taipei city for about 3 day's (at most).
Anyone have comments on the Fun Pass?
Have you used it? is it worth it?

Sadly, I really have only a few day's there so I'm going to try and maximize my time.
I'll be there as a tourist

We spent 11 nights in Taiwan last November - it's a great city! The Fun Pass seems very expensive to me. I would look at how much time you have, what you really want to see, and see how the individual cost compares to what's covered in the pass. Here's what we enjoyed and many of those things are free. We got an Easy Card (for public transportation) when we arrived at the Airport. We used it to go everywhere - the transit system is amazingly efficient and inexpensive.

  • Longshan Temple*
  • Zoo
  • Taipei Botanical Garden
  • Rahoe Night Market*
  • Chiang Kai-shek Memorial*
  • Nanmen Market
  • Taipei 101 (we didn't go to the top but enjoyed the Food Court and Shopping Center)*
  • National Palace Museum (especially if you like Asian Art but it's a bit of a bus ride to get there)
  • Night Market on Yongkang Street in Da'an District
  • Da'an Park
  • Shopping at Sogo Department Store

With three days, * (starred in the list above) these are the things I'd prioritize. We stayed at MGH Mitsui Garden Hotel which is located next to an MRT Line - it made getting around very easy. You can find almost anything you need at the 7 Eleven. It's also a place where you can add value to your Easy Card or pick up rail tickets if necessary.

The people of Taiwan are so kind. If you need assistance or directions, they are more than happy to help.

Enjoy your trip!
