Anyone with trips to the park planned for the upcoming week or so are likely are aware of this but just in case....
There's been a massive failure of the aging pipeline that provides water to both the North and South Rims, and South Rim and Phantom Ranch accommodations within the park are closed until it can be fixed. No idea how long that might take. With campground and fire restrictions the park and most day-use visitor services remain operational. Hotels and services in Tusayan aren't affected.
Stay tuned park's website for details and further developments. Obviously, having the thing go down right before a major holiday weekend is a pain for the.poor folks with reservations made many months ago! :O(
