You can start here or peruse a guide book to get an idea of what there is to see and do there.

I visit St. Augustine regularly because my father and sister have ended up there. If this is your first time, I recommend that you take one of the trolley sightseeing tours upon arrival to get an idea of what individual spots you might like to visit later. Walking down St. George Street and through the Castillo (Spanish colonial fort) are not to be missed for many people. If you're interested in hurricane destruction porn, take a drive down A1A through Ponte Vedra which still (as of March) hasn't been fully rebuilt. If you want to see someplace historic that locals like to visit but many tourists miss, check out Fort Matanzas. IMHO, the Columbia restaurant (Cuban cuisine) is not to be missed, but that's a matter of personal taste. Another place beloved by locals is the farmers market. Finally, you might check out all of the facilities in the state park on Anastasia Island, All of this assumes that you'll have a car.
