Spring break in Nashville… looking for ideas

Mid March my college kids and I are planning to drive to Nashville for the week. Music, food and city are on the agenda but would also love to find some nature - hikes , water etc. if we could find hot springs or affordable spa side trip that would be great. It sure if that exists but starting to research. Ideas appreciated, thank you!

Glad to hear you will be visiting Nashville. For hiking/nature opportunities I recommend:
Radnor Lake (but be aware that parking may be difficult, especially on weekends)
Percy Warner Park and Edwin Warner Park

Not much of a hiking area, but Centennial Park is worth a wander, if nothing else, for the full size replica of the Parthenon.

Suggest breaking up your trip...Half the week in Nashville, half a week up in the mountains....Gatlinburg for hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Better trails than you can find around Nashville.
Waterfalls and a Visitors Center near the Ranger Station where they are glad to give you information on trails.
You will find good restaurants and a couple of hotels with spas there.

It's cool here right now, so bring a fleece jacket, ski parka and windbreaker in case you need them.
We have recently had several days of warm temps, followed by high winds and cold temps (30's at night).
Of course, it may be back to being warm by the time you get here...or not.

Where will you be coming from?
You have no hometown listed with your screen name, and posters usually do have that here.
It helps us give suggestions on routes, things you might stop and see along your drive, and so on.
