Southeast Asia Tour Companies

I love RS and have used his books, videos, guides, and even done one RS tour (Scottish Highlands - awesome!). I now find myself living in SE Asia, and was wondering if anyone could recommend a comparable travel company. My young adult son will be visiting me next February and we'd like to travel through Vietnam and Cambodia, possibly other countries as well. Given time constraints and my unfamiliarity with the terrain, I'm thinking a package guided tour might be the best option.
I'm also open to any other travel tips y'all may have - I'm new to this part of the world, and an intrepid (if aging) traveler.
Cheers,
Marshall

When we lived in SE Asia ourselves (Singapore) we always had good luck finding locally based day trip and tour providers whenever we traveled to unfamiliar locations. I usually started with the TripAdvisor "Things to do" pull down menu, which featured a listing of local day tour providers and their itineraries - many of which offered multi-day trips for explorations a little further afield or into remote areas away from the major cities. I found the customer reviews to be pretty accurate as well.
Might save you a few bucks if you're willing to do the research, book your own airfare, and go "ala carte" for tours.

I had the same questions, so I am following. My sister recommended Overseas Adventure Travel, and they have a nice tour, but it seems too long for me (20 day). I am looking for something shorter.

I have used G Adventures (is a Canadian) and Intrepid Travel (is Australian) for tours both in Europe and Asia. They have different levels of service. I have not done a comfort tour but usually the regular (level tours). I found we saw lots of great sites and ate in good resturants. They tours were between 12-16 people. One thing your son might enjoy is the age range which usually as 20-60. Most of the people are well travelled and up for adventrue. Lots of single travellers, a few friends and some families.

I enjoy both companies and look up tours before deciding which one works best for me.

I have not done a Rick Steves tour yet. I have one booked in October.

Many here rave about Road Scholar: https://www.roadscholar.org/.
I see that they have a few trips that include Vietnam and Cambodia as well as other destinations in Asia. Might want to give them a look if an organized tour is your preference.
