Hello,
Looking for a region of South America similar to the Maine coastal region for winter habitation (South American summer) Low crime very important.

We have visited six South American countries and love them all, especially Peru, Argentina and Chile.
The cruise around the Horn of South America was fantastic.
South America is inexpensive and Argentina, Chile and Uruguay are more like Europe than other Latin countries in America.
There are areas on the cruise that are very special. Near the Horn in southern Argentina is Usasua.

Ushuaia
With the stunning snowy Martial Range forming a beautiful backdrop to its low-lying buildings nestled along the coastline; Ushuaia is one of the most southerly cities in the world and is located in the Tierra Del Fuego.

Also, Santiago, Chile is nice, as well as an area halfway to the Horn where German and Swiss settled.
