I have a relatively short trip to South Africa planned with a group. There's one day where we have two choices for our optional tour: Hermanus or Cape Point.
I'm interested in seeing the penguins. Whales would be cool. But which one would you recommend and why?

I have not been to Hermanus and know nothing about it. But I can tell you the penguins at Boulder Beach are awesome!
My husband and I did both last October. You will love either one, but if I had to pick, I would do Hermanus for the whales. It was too rainy the day we went to take our planned boat tour to see the whales up close, but you can literally see them from the shore. We even got to see a couple of breaches, which was awesome.
