Hello!
I have enjoyed Rick Steves' directions for trips to Europe and find his style of travel perfect! Hoping some like minded travelers here could point me in the right direction! Would love any and all input regarding Japan in the winter!
We are planning to go in February (but are flexible, want to go with the best chance of good snow!). 10 days-2 weeks depending on work schedules. Any recommendations on places to ski? I have the Lonely Planet book, but would love recommendations for other resources to plan. Because our time will be split between the slopes and other sight seeing, I want to plan well if I only have a few days off the mountain.
Really want to experience an Onsen, the food (I eat seafood, but no other meat...eat anything else!), a great temple or two, a beautiful garden, and other great Japanese experiences! We don't speak Japanese, but have time to learn some key phrases if anyone recommends a resource for that.
Planning a big trip "without Rick" is a little daunting for me! But we are excited for the adventure and know it will be the most different travel experience we have had!
