My family of 5 (kids - 21, 19 and 15) will be travelling to San Francisco for the holidays, arriving mid afternoon on Christmas Day. I would like to have a reservation, since I'm thinking it may be hard to find openings last minute. Any suggestions? We do not need a traditional dinner. Not sure what places will be open for the holiday and everything I could find online wasn't for this year. TIA.
Not sure of (family) dietary restrictions, vegan status, etc... but heartily recommend:

If you decide to go, make reservations well in advance.
Stay someplace nice and order Chinese Take Out. You can check reviews online.
Get the open table app for some suggestions. Google restaurants as well and then call to see if they will be open on Christmas. There are many great places to eat in SF. Just don’t know what will be open in the coming months.
We were there last week and many of our favorite places were closed.
Last year, a lot of San Francisco area restaurants had special Christmas (and Christmas Eve and Thanksgiving) menus, which they published in advance of the holidays, for takeaway orders. Some of the menus that I saw were per person; others were family style - at a variety of price ranges. The higher end restaurants were preparing their restaurant quality offerings, packaged as individual ready-to-eat meals or in containers to reheat.
I would imagine that most restaurants this year will offer a combination of indoor (check then-current SF rules, which currently require proof of vaccine for indoor dining) outdoor (bring a jacket) and takeaway menus. So you should be able to find just about any cuisine in any neighborhood at a variety of price points.
