Is there a Rick Steves travel guide for Australia. If so, what is the title?
No. Rick Steves does Europe.
I stand with Stan the Man, I stand with Stan the Man, I stand with Stan the Man, I stand with Stan the Man (it's sort of a Van Morrison)......
But....
In January, at the RS Travel Expo in Edmonds, Washington.....the great man stated his "absolute favorite travel destination is"........wait for it............." India"!
Say What?
So.....one never nose.
So.....one never nose.
I smell something fishy here
it might be worthwhile looking here

hope this helps
While I have never done G Adventures in Australia, I have done G Adventures/National Geographic in other countries. If you don't mind scrolling through a few pages of tours (some are age specific, some are type of travel specific), you might find some interesting adventures there through that group.
Now that has NOTHING to do with RS. Their tour ethic is very good, though, and I've done two trips with them outside of Europe in both Central America and North Africa. If you're interested in taking an organized tour outside of Europe, they're worth the time to research their website.
blu, actually, I think Van is the Man.
It would be good to know if there are other travel writer / entrepreneurs who cover non-Europe in the same style. I appreciate and use Lonely Planet and Rough Guide, but we really don't know the people who actually write them.
I planned my 3 weeks in Australia, last summer, almost entirely from online resources. The Trip Advisor Forum has a wealth of information for getting started, and the regular responders were incredibly helpful with fine tuning potential itineraries and any other questions. That it is an English- speaking country added to the ease of bookings, etc. Another planning tip is a useful and often re-posted link with the US superimposed on the continent of Australia, for a reasonable scale for planning. (We tend to underestimate just how vast it is!) The other consideration is the weather- many queries about that!
Perhaps Rick's son may want to pursue this idea...

lummis,
This would be a good site to check - https://www.lonelyplanet.com/australia . If you have a Library or large book store in your neighborhood, have a look at their guidebook.
If you have the time and a generous budget, this looks like an incredible trip - https://www.greatsouthernrail.com.au/trains/the-ghan .
