Rick Steve's travel group NH or MA???

I have a friend whose wife won't fly. we were talking today and I think a rick Steve's tour would be a good fit for him, but it would be so helpful if there were a group around here whose meetings he could attend. I know they exist in other parts of the country, because I have seen their notifications on the forum. Any info?

Kate,

You might want to re-post this question in this section of the Forum.....

I agree that a RS tour would absolutely be something that would allow your friend to travel (assuming his wife doesn't mind him touring about Europe on his own). Is there any possibility that his wife might be interested in trying cognitive therapy or some of the other therapies for overcoming her fear?

There are quite a few solo travellers on the forum, and with proper planning he could also try solo travel (although a tour would be a better idea for the first trip). If your friend is interested, he could also register here on the forum to start getting some ideas about travel.

she doesn't mind and I have taken your advice and reposted. (I always use the 'all topics" view so it never occurred to me that some folks isolate their looking at the boards to certain sub forums, so thank you.)

Hopefully you'll get a few more helpful replies in the other section of the forum. I've added a few points to my initial post.

BTW, I've taken eight RS tours as a solo traveller, and they were great! I usually combine the tours with self-guided travel both before and after the tours, and some trips in the last few years have been for two months.
