Suggestions for good restaurants in Portland ME
It's been a few years but the reviews are still good:

I always stopped at Standard Bakery for coffee and delicious pastries in the morning:

Via Vecchia. Italian restaurant with patio, downtown.
Holy Donut for breakfast. Becky's Diner for the best lobster rolls for lunch. Central Provisions for dinner.
I would agree with Fore Street.
I didn’t think the Holy Donut was that good and Beckys Diner is hit or miss.
I had been to Portland 10 years ago, just walked along the harbor area and find fresh oysters and crab cakes everywhere! Absolutely delicious.
Fore Street is the restaurant that put Portland, ME on the foodie map. You could also try Scales, Street & Co, or Central Provisions. For less expensive, more casual dining, try Eventide Oyster, Duckfat or Honey Paw. If you want to experience the local vibe on Commercial Street, visit J's Oyster - an institution in the Old Port. Another place (but outside of the Old Port) to check out is a burger & beer joint called The Great Lost Bear - another institution and local favorite. Enjoy!
