Respect Egypt Tours?

Anybody dealt with this tour company? Setting up a tour with them and I still don't feel totally convinced that everything is legit.

Thanks!

I don't know anything about them, but if you are working with them and have reason to doubt their legitimacy, I'd pump the brakes. There are a lot of legitimate tour companies running excellent programs in Egypt, many of which have been recommended numerous times on this forum (OAT, Gate 1, Intrepid, G Adventures, and lots more).

Is the tour a regular day tour or are you talking about a multi-day large tour that travels from place to place? When I looked them up on TripAdvisor, it mostly seems to be a company that manages day tours.

More information would be helpful here, cosruss. Thanks!

It's for the August 2027 solar eclipse. 1 day in Cairo, flight to Aswan, 3-day cruise to Luxor. I see all the positive reviews for their short tours, but I'm nervous about this one, especially because it's so far out.

What is their cancellation policy? And do you have to pay anything upfront?

We've paid 20% so far, with the rest due by 1/1/27. Also purchased travel insurance, which I hope will cover some of the loss if this turns out to be a scam.

Well, Trip Advisor reviews were decent—have you checked there or asked anyone? It doesn't look like too many folks here have used them, so I would try asking on TA. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g294202-d24991695-Reviews-Respect_Egypt_Tours-Giza_Giza_Governorate.html

You could also ask on the Egypt forum as well.

And with regards to travel insurance, every policy is different so look through the contract to see what's covered.

It is best to compare tours.
We did compare for our Egypt tour and river cruise a few years ago.
We picked Gate 1 Travel that was the best price (price was 60% of Viking).
