While researching rental cars for an upcoming trip to Tasmania I've come across a couple of local companies offering dramatically lower rates than the legacy companies. I have some concerns about their ratings and relative reliability however.
Does anyone here, particularly the resident Aussies on the forum, have any experience or opinions regarding Bargain Car Rentals and/or Eastcoast Car Rentals? TIA
Hi Robert, no experience with Bargain Car Rentals but I use Eastcoast for my annual trip to Cairns as do several friends. Eastcoast are reliable, have a good range of vehicles. They are not located within airports, hence the cheaper rates. The do have a free shuttle service for pick up and drop off at the airport, reasonably easy and efficient but does add a bit of time to collect and return your car.
I have used both. Eastcoast as mentioned is good. So is Bargain. The Bargain Car Rentals company is the franchisee in Australia for Avis , each office is a subfranchise and service depends on the owner. Hobart airport franchisee will be reliable.
I would look at both and go for the best deal.
