Reliable medical travel insurance for Costa Rica?

We’ll be traveling to Costa Rica again for a couple months this winter. Can anyone share positive suggestions for solid, reliable, trustworthy medical travel insurance — pleeease ?
I was hospitalized last year, and the care was OUTSTANDING in San Jose!
However, we had horrible experiences with IMG travel ins policies last year. After paying over $1,100 for our policies, I was reimbursed ZERO for an emergency situation. We read about others’ similar “rip-off” experiences after returning from our trip (like calling a broken arm from a car accident a pre-existing condition??).
Thanks so much!

I have always bought Generali Travel Insurance ( formerly CSA) which offers comprehensive coverage in its three policy types. You can insure your trip for the costs that are non-refundable. For example, if you’re expecting your entire trip costs are going to be $7,000 you can insure $ 3,000 to cover nonrefundable airfares and nonrefundable hotel reservations. Generali has great medical treatment and med-evac coverage along with the usual trip interruption/delay coverage. Car rental coverage is available for a supplemental charge.
Have a great Trip!

I feel you! Reliable travel insurance is crucial. I had a great experience with this one (https://tiendasagicor.com/) during my Costa Rica trip. They covered unexpected medical expenses without any issues. It gave me peace of mind, and their customer service was helpful, too. Check them out! And let me know what you think.

Thanks for the helpful replies - and I would love to see any other suggestions. It's helpful to have a few companies to suggest when the travel ins topic comes up.
