Recommendations for (Non-Hotel) Places to Stay in New Orleans Around New Years

We've stayed at The Columns on St. Charles before and enjoyed it, especially the setting in the Garden District. Are there other places like that that you would recommend? Thanks so much. Paul

I live in New Orleans and am impressed with the Chimes B&B in uptown New Orleans. Lovely lady owns and runs it; I've only heard good things about it, and it's in a lovely Uptown (though not Garden District) neighborhood, about 3 blocks from St. Charles Ave (so easy to take the streetcar).
