Real Egypt Tours?

I have seen a lot of posts and comments about tour groups to Egypt.

That said, I am wondering if anyone has experience with Real Egypt Tours, especially their custom tours? I found them in Moon Handbooks (which is the sister guide to Rick Steves - it was Moon that introduced me to RS!). I don't normally travel with a group, but was advised by Egyptians to do so. Egypt appears to be quite affordable, so I am willing to splurge a bit on a private custom tour, in order to see the things I'd pick on my own, rather than a preset itinerary.

If you know about this company, or any other that specializes in custom tours, I would love to hear from you!

Rochelle, if you do not get responses (and I just did a quick search and did not see anything about this group) you might want to check Trip Advisor.

I have not had any experience with Real Egypt, but I have done two private tours with Djed Egypt. Our itinerary was totally custom. A dahabiya cruise was one of the highlights of the trip. Djed was first rate, and I would travel with them again in a heartbeat if the opportunity were to arise.

I also did a private tour to Jordan and Israel with Egypt and Beyond. The tour was pricey simply because Jordan and Israel are more expensive than Egypt. Egypt and Beyond was great, though.

No way would I do Egypt on my own.
Security is important in Egypt, do a tour.
We did Gate 1 Tours for 14 days and it was fantastic. Stayed in five star hotels and did two river cruises for $3500 pp and that included airfare from JFK airport.
