Protests in Panama

For anyone on a Panama Canal cruise in the near future you are unlikely to be allowed ashore at either end of the Canal due to massive protests in the Country about a proposed new Copper mine.

There is also another issue going on with Panama Canal right now in that low water has caused Panama Canal Officials to cut available slots for ship transits by half according to the Wall Street Journal. Rainfall levels are evidently down by about 1/3 from last year.
