private guide in Alaska

HI
We are looking to travel to Alaska with about 8 or 10 others. I have been many times but not as a group. Can anyone recommend a private guide that will travel with us and be able to drive around 10 or so people? Mainland only not cruise recommendations. Starting in Anchorage
thank you

thank you but we are looking for recommendations of people that have had a private guide in Alaska in the areas around Anchorage etc.

What do you consider the "areas around Anchorage"? When are you going? What are your must see/do items? What is mobility of the group members? Do you want to fish? Hike? Have you made vehicle arrangements? Alaskans say that Anchorage is only an hour from Alaska. After 44 years in Alaska, I agree with that. Depending on conditions, we may be able to recommend a guide.

thank you for your response. We are flying into Anchorage. Looking for someone that has a vehicle that can hold 10 people and transport to Denali Seward etc.

We did Denali a few years ago and you are on a bus. The driver is your guide. You won't need another guide there.

What do you want to see or do? When are you traveling? It is late to make group arrangements for this year. Even car rentals are tough now let alone a 15+ passenger van (12 pass van is too cosy for long drives). A couple of friends are already fully booked for this year. To get a bus into Denali Park requires an overnight stay. As mentioned, the driver is the guide for that jaunt. There are trains from Anchorage to/from Denali. (Train to Fairbanks, overnight, return train with stop at Denali for park bus is possible.) Seward would also require an overnight stay if you want to take a boat tour there. A day trip is possible by train - goes thru some scenic areas. Do you want to visit other Kenai Peninsula places (Homer, Ninilchik, Kenai, Halibut Cove)? These also require overnight stays. Day trips south from Anchorage include Indian, Alyeska, Whittier and Portage. North day trips are Palmer & Matanuska Glacier. I think you best check with the big bus tour outfits for any overnight trips as they will generally have accommodations. There are several smaller outfits for the day trips. Unless you need the guide to make arrangements and handle luggage, the "MilePost" has enough info. Normally, May and June are the driest and least buggy months.

Thank you for the replies. We may just switch to another location to travel to. We have been there about 10 times but not with a larger group. It seems way to expensive now to stay and travel around.
