What is this like? Passive?
Add on Easter Island?

Add on Antarctica ?

A friend of mind took an Antarctica cruise with a Patagonia add-on with Viking and said it was wonderful. He and his wife were thrilled with their trip.

We took a cruise from Buenos Aires to Valparaiso several years ago and it was great. We were on Norwegian Cruise Line and I'd call it passive, with various options in half a dozen ports along the way. Some of the best mountain scenery I've seen anywhere in the Beagle Channel. We added days in Buenos Aires at one end and Santiago at the other, which were well worthwhile. One of the ports was Ushuaia, where the Antarctic cruises start and finish -- much less passive, rougher seas, unique experiences.

Antarctica wouldn't be an add-on to the kind of cruise we took, since Ushuaia is in the middle of the itinerary. But you can get there by air from Buenos Aires (maybe also Santiago). National Geographic (aka Lindblad) is probably the best-known provider. Easter Island would be a flight from Santiago, you could probably find such a trip on Google. I doubt if there would be a boat trip there because it's so far from the continent, but maybe there is.
