Which hotel Hotel Cheval or Allegretto.
We will be there for 4 days. 2 full wine days. Both sound great shall I split 2 and 2 or stay with which ine?

Did you have a look at the Creekside Inn of Paso Robles? Higher ratings and at a comparable cost.

Hhi, smrtannie, I haven't stayed at either so can't help you there.
One time I stayed at the Cambria Pines Lodge in Cambria. I love that place, but it is about 30 minutes away from Paso Robles, so that might not be an option. Another time I stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Paso Robles, and that was fine.
Regardless, definitely do not miss visiting Cambria. It's a beautiful and charming town, and has a gorgeous coast. There's so many places in that area to see. My sister used to live in Atascadero, so I would go out every year or so and stay with her, and we would travel around. It's just a wonderful area; probably my favorite area of California.
