Ottawa closed for "winter" ?

A question for our friends in the North. We are looking to visit Montreal and Quebec City in September. Also was thinking of swinging by Ottawa for a few days to check out the national museums and other sights there. Looking at visiting hours/dates on-line, I was surprised to see that the museums and other touristy venues appear to be closed after Labor Day. Looks like the tourist season there is strictly May-August with no "shoulders". Is that the actual case or am I missing something? I was unable to get a human contact at Ottawa Tourism. Many thanks.

Rest easy, we are open (I live in Ottawa). I am not quite sure what you are looking at, but perhaps Fall hours are not listed, or if wanting to book on line, they aren't loaded yet.
There are still many tourists as well as conference attendees in the city in September.
Now, it is true that many of our parks and campgrounds close after Labour Day, but there are still things to do on the city.
I did a test on the Ottawa Tourism site for activities between a few dates in September. Plenty of options.

Visited Ottawa a few years ago and it was a great surprise. Beautiful historic/parliament area and active tourist zone. Only spent 1 night and wish we had stayed 2-3.

I visited Ottawa for a weekend over 40 years ago in November and people were ice skating on the canal in their business suits.
The city is great, it is a modest sized city, easy to get around and with a beautiful parliament building and more.

MariaF is right, the fall hours haven’t been posted yet.

Those of us who live here like to visit our museums and galleries and other sights year round, it would be pretty boring if everything was shut down for 8 months.
