We have a trip to India early next year and I have been reading on the internet about how to get it, etc.
Apparently you receive a message of approval in adobe acrobat. I have adobe on my 12 year old MAC, but can't print from it.
Also, I read that getting the right photo can be a pain.
Anyone experience issues.
MAC for many years, current is now 7+ years old. Have you tried getting a new version of Adobe? I have never heard of the issue of being unable to print a pdf. You can try searching the print issue out in MAC forums.
Larry,
I need to find out how to remove my older version of Adobe, so I can download the newer version.
I just got the 5 year e-visa in October and didn’t have any issue with the photo. It is easy to resize it in Paint or the other common apps on your laptop.
You can just save the email with the evisa confirmation as a pdf and print using any printer. Worst case, send to a friend to print it.
Note - my visa took a little over a week to get even though they indicate 48-72 hours.
Thanks for the tips guys.
We visited four ports in SW India in 2015 and the Indian Visa then was NOT available on-line. The process was the worst of any country we had previously, including Russia and China. At least we don't have to go through that again. I had to pay a visa company loads of $$ to get that one for me.
For the life of me, I don't understand why India had to pick adobe for there approval doc. We have done the UK e-visa as well as one for Kenya and another for Australia, which were more user friendly.

Look for an Adobe Uninstaller in your applications.
I think you are making a bigger deal of the pdf than it is. I just looked at the email ETA I got and it is a simple email with all the details. If you have a printer hooked up you won't have any issues with printing this. If you need to , you can cut and paste it into Word and the print (I just tried the cut and paste and it worked).
To prep you, the issue I had was in making the payment. It took me 7 tries to get the payment to go through - tried different options and different browsers. Also, when filling out the application online, it errored/timed out a few times. So, be patient and it will go through.
Lots of software can open a pdf, it’s really the global standard for this kind of document.
I’ll post a freeware software that I use for PDFs, it allows limited editing like replacing a few characters in a file or deleting / rearranging pages. Adobe Acrobat Pro (the full version) is expensive and clumsy. Of course you don’t need to edit your visa document.
Edit: PdfGear, free for PC or Mac, recommend it, used it for years.
I did manage to delete adobe acrobat from my computer, it was an old version that I could never use to print even after updating. I then downloaded the recent version of adobe.
